Anxiety therapy in NYC
When your mind rarely slows down, even ordinary decisions can feel exhausting. You might replay conversations, seek reassurance, or feel responsible for preventing every possible problem. From the outside you may seem capable and composed; inside, it can feel like you’re always bracing for what comes next.
You don’t need to wait until things become unmanageable to seek support. I’m Danielle Weiner, LMHC, and I offer collaborative therapy for adults navigating anxiety in New York City, with in-person and virtual sessions.
Does any of this feel familiar?
Overthinking decisions and struggling to trust yourself
Replaying interactions or worrying about how others see you
Feeling that mistakes are unacceptable or that you must always do more
Checking, searching, or asking for reassurance to feel certain
Avoiding situations that matter to you because anxiety feels too uncomfortable
Finding it hard to be present in your relationships or enjoy downtime
Anxiety can show up in different ways. We’ll take time to understand your experience and what you would like to change.
How therapy can help
We’ll explore the thoughts, beliefs, and habits that keep anxiety going. Some responses bring short-term relief while making uncertainty harder to tolerate over time. Together, we can practice different ways of responding, at a pace that feels purposeful and manageable.
Depending on your needs, we might work on noticing self-critical thinking, reducing avoidance and reassurance-seeking, making room for uncomfortable feelings, or taking action guided by your values. Progress can include feeling more able to live your life even when anxiety shows up.
A warm, active approach
My work draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These approaches help us understand how thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and actions interact, and explore new responses.
You’ll have space to feel heard, alongside practical conversations about what you can try between sessions. We’ll set goals together and revisit them as your needs change.
Health anxiety, relationship anxiety, and perfectionism
Anxiety may center on your health, a relationship, work, or a fear of getting something wrong. We can explore the patterns beneath these concerns without expecting you to force yourself to stop caring. If intrusive thoughts or compulsions are part of the picture, we’ll discuss your needs and appropriate treatment options.
In-person and online anxiety therapy
My office is at 303 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10016. Virtual sessions are also available; we’ll confirm that your location and scheduling needs are a fit before starting.
Start with a conversation
You don’t have to explain everything perfectly. A consultation is a chance to share what’s been difficult, ask questions, and see whether working together feels right.
